Social media...

Social media is a phrase that we often use these days , especially  to just describe what we post on sites and apps like Facebook,  Twitter,  Instagram etc . 

Social media refers to applications and websites that are designed to allow people to share content quickly and efficiently . Social media is originated as a way to interact with friends and family but was later adopted by businesses . Globally,  the are more than 3 billion social media users approximately . Even government and politicians utilize social media to engage with constituents and voters . Mostly for individuals , social media is used to keep in touch with friends and extended family . In the aspect of businesses, it helps  the companies to reach out customers in a earlier way . 

While social media has it's positive side , it also have some negative points like :

• As social media gives platform to every individual to share information , and it can reach out billions so , some false information can spread easily 
• The valuable personal an face to face interaction of people are weakening . 
• People have lots of friends  in online , even some whom they don't see in real life . That is strangers , which in turn may be a threat to some .
• One most important negative side of social media is our health , as we spend lot of time  in it , our eyes get affected and stress level increase .
• Hacking into the personal information may occur , which is not secure to us .
• Sharing location may help theft to take place. 

As every man made invention have their own positive and negative side to it . Let us take a simple example  of a knife , which is an essential tool in our household , kitchen,  but it also used as a weapon to hurt others or also sometimes to kill someone . In the same manner , social media,  if used in a proper way , it can be a boon if not a cruse↬.  It all depends upon how we use it and how much information we share .
